  Granted, accepting the truths of God’s Word exacts a price. First, just learning the truth can be a shattering experience. The Encyclopedia Americana observes: “The truth is often disagreeable, because it fails to support prejudice or myth.” Seeing our beliefs exposed as untrue can be disillusioning, especially if we were taught by trusted religious leaders. Some might liken the experience to finding out that trusted parents were, in fact, secret criminals. But is not finding out religious truth better than living under a delusion? Is it not better to know the facts than to be manipulated by lies?—Compare John 8:32; Romans 3:4.

  Second, living by religious truth may cost us the acceptance of some who were formerly our friends. In a world where so many have “exchanged the truth of God for the lie,” those who hold firm to the truth of God’s Word seem peculiar and are sometimes shunned and misunderstood.—Romans 1:25; 1 Peter 4:4.

  Does the Truth Ever Change?

  THAT question was raised by V. R. Ruggiero in his book The Art of Thinking. His answer is no. He elaborates: “It may sometimes seem to, but on closer inspection it will be found not to.”

  “Consider,” he says, “the case of the authorship of the first book of the Bible, the book of Genesis. For centuries Christians and Jews alike believed that the book had a single author. In time this view was challenged, and eventually replaced by the belief that as many as five authors contributed to Genesis. Then, in 1981, the results of a 5-year linguistic analysis of Genesis were published, stating that there is an 82 percent probability of single authorship, as originally thought.

  “Has the truth about the authorship of Genesis changed? No. Only our belief has changed. . . . The truth will not be changed by our knowledge or by our ignorance.”(W95,7/1 Why Search For Truth)

  In the early 90's the WTBT$ decided that the Greek Bethel was too small to house the Bethel family and told them that they wanted to build a new bigger Bethel at the outskirts of Athens that will look after the needs of all South Eastern Europe.What a priviledge! The Greek brotherhood fell for it .Thousands of volunteers worked non stop for over 4 years to build this monster site .You have to understand that Greeks work Monday to Friday and all their weekends at the expence of family life and personal health they had to work from early in the morning till late at night to finish this project UNPAID !!!

  4 years down the line the Bethel is finshed but things have also changed in Athens dramatically ,the goverment's new plans were to relocate all businesses to the outskirts of Athens ,as a result the property value skyrocketed !

  What do you know? Only few years after the Bethel was finished they decided to sell it and return the family to it's original building. The site was sold for hundrends of millions of euros while it cost them next to nothing to buy the land (previously pasture grounds for local shepherds) and build it with FREE LABOR.

  Now you have to understand ,I see many brothers and sisters helping in building projects but this is done mostly ,at least here in Britain , at the expence of the taxpayer.Now I don't say this is the case for all ,but at least the majority will be living off benefits in paid from the goverment accomodation doing window cleaning without declaring any tax.Greece hasn't got such system .If you don't work you end up on the street ,no benefits no free housing .These people gave from what they didn't have to build the new Bethel .

  What a scam !!!

  I'm blacklisted for some time now but I always say a prayer before I put my hand up and then I hope for the best .I don't usually answer the silly questions ,I go for the ones that carry the mind control propaganda and try to destroy them .If you destroy the right question the whole article comes apart .

  15 What if we have a negative attitude toward our fellow worshippers? Under such circumstances, our relationship with Jehovah can be affected. (1 John 4:20) When the Israelites questioned Aaron’s appointment and position, Jehovah viewed that action as murmuring against Him. (Num. 17:10) Similarly, if we were to start grumbling and murmuring about those whom Jehovah is using to direct the earthly part of his organization, we could by inference be complaining about Jehovah.—Heb. 13:7, 17.

  Just came back from the meeting .I gave an answer for the above paragraph that made the WT conductor go a bit pale in the face .

  THE ANSWER : Let's not forget that Aaron led the Israelites to idolatry and apostacy .If you were an Israelite and blindly followed his direction Jehovah would have killed you at the end of this test ,if you disobeyed and followed your Bible based consience (10 comandments ) you lived .This example shows that we shouldn't follow blindly men even if they claim to be anointed ,the obedience is conditional and the determining factor should be our Bible based consience .

  4Is it really possible that we could become “enraged against Jehovah”? Surely to do so would be futile. (Isa. 41:11) What would we hope to gain? A poet once said: “Your arm’s too short to box with God.” We may never go so far as to vocalize a complaint against Jehovah. But Proverbs 19:3 says that a man’s foolishness “distorts his way, and so his heart becomes enraged against Jehovah himself.” Yes, a person can become enraged against God in his heart. This attitude could manifest itself in subtle ways. An individual could, as it were, hold a grudge against Jehovah. As a result, that person might withdraw from the congregation or not fully support arrangements for Jehovah’s worship.

  My thought:Jehovah is WT’s puppet, Jehovah=WT POPES

  PARAGRAPH 11

  11 We become too self-centered. The prophet Jonah had a problem with Jehovah’s merciful decision regarding Nineveh. (Jonah 4:1-3) Why? He apparently became too concerned about losing face when his proclamation of destruction did not come true. Jonah allowed concern over his reputation to overshadow any compassion he should have felt for the repentant Ninevites. Could we likewise become so self-centered that we become “enraged against Jehovah” for not bringing the end sooner? If we have been preaching for decades that Jehovah’s day is close, could we start to become impatient with Jehovah when others criticize us for proclaiming what the Bible says?—2 Pet. 3:3, 4, 9.

  My thought: It’s your fault they got it wrong with 1914 ,you are being self centered…

  How do you sit through such an article without blowing a gasket I don't know .How could you answer in a way that you tell the TRUTH without getting into trouble? What do you think?

  The Real Aftermath of the AGM...Part 2

  for the ones based in britain only the "few" were invited to attend the agm .they received their new grey bible and the rumor was that the new bible will not be available for the rest of the congragations until january .it was confirmed tonight .a letter was read as local announcement that the new bibles will not be available until the end of january for the rest of the congragation .all the in crowd were sat there with their new flashy bible looking smug.also the bible reading was read from the new bible to make it all the more obvious ..... the real aftermath of agm....

  The Real Aftermath of the AGM...

  i didn't go to the agm nor was i invited .i didn't go to the sunday meeting either.i received a text though from a long standing ministerial servant that echoes the sentiment in my congragation at least.he was present at the meeting.no elder was there and all parts ,watchtower and public talk were handled by ministerial servants.he was incensed that he was not invited allthough he's been a servant for many years and always volunteered at the assemblies etc.

  the absense of all these elders was very noticable .most of the congragation was uninformed for the "dog & ponny show" (sorry agm) and the reason i think was that they were embarrased to admit that only they were going to go.but the most upsetting thing for many is that only the ones that went to the agm got the new bible ,the rest will have to wait till january when the first supply arrives at the congragation.

  also many have found out that the instruction is that the new bible has to be used from the congragation straight away at the meetings and field service .imagine the embarrasment to be sitting next to the in crowd with their new flashy bible !.

  so far ( it is early days) the first Bibles will be distributed next year .Only the ones that attented the AGM will have one immmediately.Anyone here from the UK? Do you have any more uptodate info?
